The Association of Open-Hearted People - LOS in Olsztyn near Częstochowa was registered due to a decision of the Provincial Court in Częstochowa Civil Department , on 24^th January 1999. The association continues the activity of the John Paul II Rehabilitation Centre Building Committee which was founded in 1989 in Olsztyn near Częstochowa.

The LOS Association has been helping all handicapped people living in small towns and villages and who are usually unaware of their rights and opportunities to improve their living and health conditions. We have already come to their assistance in different ways e.g. by obtaining donation for eliminating architectural barriers in flats and public areas, by procuring rehabilitation equipment for people who have been handicapped since they were born and for those who became handicapped as a result of an accident or at old age. Every year we organize rehabilitation rest at the seaside and in the mountains, which is partly donated by the State Rehabilitation Fund for the Handicapped.

In accordance with the decision of Regional Court in Częstochowa XVII Economy Department of State Court Register on 21^ST February 2008 the LOS Association got the status of public benefit organization . The members of the association’s Management do not draw a salary, they all carry on welfare work
